The recent WHO report on red and processed meat has caused a lot of controversy, with people threatening to sue and lots of people are trying to spin the information for their own arguments.
On a personal level, I don’t eat meat because I can live and eat very, very well without having to kill anything, for my logic if I don’t need to kill, then why do it? Yes, you need to make sure you’re getting a balanced diet, but you need to do that
There are also strong environmental arguments and health arguments for, at the very least, cutting down on your meat consumption.
BUT, at the end of the day, I respect that each of us is responsible ONLY for our own decisions and choices. For any of you wanting to get the facts, without the spin, I am attaching the links below.
The WHO report deals with the health risks. Here is a link to the questions and answers about the report.
There is also a United Nations report that deals with the environmental impacts. You can read it here.
These organisations are not linked to vegetarian or vegan groups, they are not a bunch of hippies (like me!!!), they are established and respected international organisations.
So, if you are concerned about the impact of meat on your health or the environment then read the actual reports yourselves and make up your own minds, don’t listen to any of the propaganda from anyone….
